About the role

Contract: Temporary to commence on 4th January 2027 (The job will be guaranteed for 2 terms with the possibility of this extending into the following academic year).

Pay: MPS 3 - 6

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced teacher to join our friendly, ambitious and supportive team at Burntstump Seely C of E Primary Academy.

The Governors of Burntstump Seely wish to appoint an experienced, committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our dedicated team. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to work across Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, helping to shape children's learning during the most important years of their education.

The successful candidate will teach our Nursery and Reception children each morning, creating a nurturing, engaging and ambitious learning environment where every child can flourish. During the afternoon, they will lead phonics teaching for Year 1 pupils, deliver wider curriculum learning for Year 1 and Year 2 children and work alongside colleagues to ensure that our Nursery and Reception children continue to benefit from high-quality, purposeful continuous provision.

This post would suit someone who:

Has experience within the primary phase, particularly in EYFS

Is a creative and enthusiastic teacher with excellent classroom practice

Has a secure understanding of child development and the Early years foundation stage statutory framework

Has a strong understanding of early reading and phonics and a commitment to ensuring every child becomes a confident reader

Understands the importance of high-quality continuous provision and meaningful adult interactions

Has high expectations of themselves and of what all children can achieve

Is skilled at nurturing children's independence, confidence and love of learning

Can effectively support and challenge children with a wide range of needs and abilities

Works collaboratively as part of a wider team to raise aspiration and achievement for all

Inspires and motivates children, colleagues and families
