Interim Software Engineer, Leeds

We’re looking for an Interim Software Engineer to join our busy IT Development team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, providing maternity cover. This is a great opportunity to work on impactful, enterprise-grade solutions that directly support how our colleagues work and how we deliver services to clients.

You’ll help design, build and maintain modern, scalable applications using Microsoft technologies, particularly C# .NET and Azure. Working across a varied portfolio, you’ll quickly get involved in key projects, contributing from discovery through to delivery and helping to improve our digital capabilities across cloud, integration and AI‑enabled technologies.

You’ll work closely with Senior Software Engineers, QA, IT Infrastructure and Product Owners in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment. You’ll contribute to front‑end development and user experience, support technical and visual design decisions, and apply DevOps techniques to improve how we develop, deploy and maintain software.

We’re looking for:

• Experience with Microsoft technologies, including C# .NET and Azure Cloud
• Front‑end development skills with a focus on user experience (Blazor WebAssembly experience is a plus, not a requirement)
• Understanding of software architecture, technical and visual design
• Familiarity with modern development tools and practices, including AI‑enabled tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Experience working in Scrum/Agile teams

You’ll be part of a team with strong in‑house knowledge, end‑to‑end ownership of solutions and close partnership with users including Fee Earners, Legal Technologists and Business Services.
