About the role

Sir Bernard Lovell Academy is seeking a values-driven Safeguarding and Behaviour Officer with the ability to provide compassionate pastoral support balanced with a firm and fair approach to maintaining the high standards of behaviour we expect in the school. This is an important and rewarding role that really makes a difference to the welfare of all children in the school, especially the most vulnerable young people. About Sir Bernard Lovell Academy

We are a thriving and oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school serving the communities between Bristol and Bath. Our strong house system, student leadership roles and enrichment programme ensure that our students have an extensive range of opportunities to develop their personal skills and characteristics outside as well as inside the classroom.

Sir Bernard Lovell Academy is part of Futura Learning Partnership, giving colleagues the opportunity to work within their own distinctive school community while benefiting from the collaboration, shared expertise and professional connections of a wider trust.

About Futura Learning Partnership

Futura Learning Partnership is a growing, values-led multi-academy trust of 26 schools, serving more than 12,000 children and young people across five local authority areas in the South West of England. Our schools span education from nursery and primary through to secondary and post-16, supported by more than 1,700 colleagues.

Each of our schools has its own distinctive identity and deep roots in its local community, but no school works alone. Collaboration sits at the heart of Futura: schools share expertise, learn from one another and take collective responsibility for giving children and young people the best possible opportunities.

Together, we are building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish. Our commitments to inclusion, community and growth guide how we work, the decisions we make, and the experience we want to create for pupils and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Promote and reinforce the school safeguarding and behaviour policies.

• Support the Behaviour Manager to ensure the needs of individual students are being met.

• Work with the DSL as part of the Safeguarding Team to ensure that the strategic and day-to-day work of safeguarding is effective.

• Liaise with staff, students and parents to provide key information, advice and guidance to support resolving behavioural and social issues.

• Liaise effectively with external agencies as required, including supporting with referrals.

Our Culture and Offer

We want Futura to be a place where people feel valued, supported, and able to develop. Collaboration and shared learning are part of how we work, with opportunities to connect with colleagues across our schools, develop professionally, and contribute to the wider partnership.

Eligible colleagues can access a range of benefits designed to support health, wellbeing and development. These include a fully funded Health Cash Plan, providing up to £500 each year towards everyday health costs such as dental, optical and physiotherapy appointments, as well as confidential counselling and wellbeing support, Cycle to Work Scheme, gym membership discounts and opportunities for professional and career development.
