Are you an experienced CAD Technician looking for an opportunity to work within an innovative construction environment?

We are working with an established and forward-thinking offsite construction specialist, delivering high-performance prefabricated building systems across sectors including education, healthcare, residential and commercial construction.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a CAD Technician to join their design team and play a key role in taking projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.

The Role

As CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings for prefabricated construction systems, working closely with design, engineering, manufacturing and project teams.

You will be involved in developing designs for panelised construction, timber frame systems, walls, floors and roof structures, ensuring drawings are suitable for manufacture and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for offsite construction projects

• Develop manufacturing and fabrication drawings from design information

• Work from architectural, structural and engineering drawings

• Prepare detailed drawings for prefabricated panels and construction components

• Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements

• Liaise with engineers, architects, project managers and manufacturing teams

• Support design development and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle

• Make revisions and amendments to drawings as required

• Ensure drawing information is accurate and issued within agreed deadlines

• Assist with the coordination of designs prior to manufacture and installation

• Maintain accurate drawing registers and document control

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a CAD Technician, Design Technician, Architectural Technician or similar

• Experience within construction, manufacturing, timber frame, modular or offsite construction - would be preferred  

• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with 3D CAD/BIM software would be advantageous

• Ability to interpret architectural, structural and technical drawings

• Good understanding of construction detailing and buildability

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work collaboratively across design, engineering and production teams

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• A proactive approach to problem solving and design development
