About the role
Location: South Birmingham
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary ongoing until at least December 2026
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Technician to join a busy secondary school in South Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and reliable IT professional to support the school’s IT infrastructure, staff, and students.
The successful candidate will be required to start as soon as possible and will be working within the school until at least December 2026, with the potential for the role to continue beyond this date.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing first and second-line IT support to staff and students.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Managing user accounts, passwords, and permissions.
- Supporting classroom technology, interactive displays, and AV equipment.
- Assisting with the installation, configuration, and deployment of new IT equipment.
- Ensuring all IT systems are operating efficiently and securely.
- Liaising with external suppliers and service providers when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an IT Technician is essential.
- Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
