About the role
Zest Education are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to join a thriving Secondary School in Rednal. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in the day-to-day management and operational success of the school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a range of operational functions, ensuring the school runs efficiently, safely, and effectively. This is a MAT long-term position starting in December 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the school’s daily operations, ensuring services run efficiently and effectively.
- Managing facilities, health and safety, site maintenance, cleaning, catering, and security functions.
- Leading and supporting operational and administrative staff.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and school policies.
- Managing contracts and liaising with external suppliers and service providers.
- Supporting budget management and procurement processes.
- Overseeing risk assessments and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained across the site.
- Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support the school’s strategic objectives.
- Contributing to business continuity planning and operational development projects.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Operations Manager is essential.
- Experience working within a school or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety, facilities management, and operational best practices.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing teams and external contractors.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
