Crawley, West Sussex Syntech Recruitment Ltd Technical Services Manager Location: Crawley, West Sussex – office-based with UK-wide site travel Salary: £48,000 + uncapped commission (realistic £10,000 OTE in year one) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Syntech Recruitment are supporting a growing engineering business in Crawley with the appointment of an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead its Site Services function. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical services, team management, customer relationships, project delivery and commercial growth. You'll manage a small technical team while working directly with customers across the UK to identify opportunities for repairs, maintenance, upgrades and additional engineering services. The business has recently achieved record turnover and is looking for someone who can help drive the continued growth of its Site Services division. Benefits * £48,000 base salary plus uncapped commission * Realistic additional £10,000 OTE in year one * Direct opportunity to increase earnings through revenue growth * Varied technical, commercial and leadership position * Career progression within a growing engineering business Responsibilities * Manage and develop the Site Services and Repairs team, including 1:1s, reviews, training and performance management * Build strong relationships with key customers and take ownership of escalated technical or service issues * Conduct customer site visits and lead regular account review meetings * Monitor warranty claims, equipment failures and associated costs * Investigate recurring equipment issues and support root cause analysis * Work closely with Quality and Technical teams to improve equipment reliability, installation and lifecycle performance * Manage repair, refurbishment, upgrade and improvement projects from initial requirement through to completion * Coordinate customers, suppliers, engineers and subcontractors while controlling project timescales and budgets * Work alongside Business Development to grow Site Services revenue across new and existing customers * Conduct site surveys and identify opportunities for maintenance programmes, repairs, upgrades and additional works * Support quotations, proposals and CapEx/OpEx solutions based on customer requirements * Contribute directly towards divisional turnover, margin and profitability Requirements * Experience within a technical engineering, maintenance, facilities or field service environment * Previous experience managing technical teams, engineers or supervisors * Strong understanding of equipment repairs, maintenance, warranty and customer support * Ability to interpret technical drawings, documentation and specifications * Experience investigating equipment failures and completing root cause analysis * Strong customer-facing, commercial and problem-solving skills * Experience managing engineering or technical projects * Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK Experience within gates, barriers, access control or a related engineering sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
