About the role

Are you an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant looking for flexible supply work that fits around your life?

We are recruiting skilled, adaptable SEN Supply TAs to join a vibrant, purpose-built SEN school in West Wickham. Operating on an ad hoc basis, this role offers full control over your schedule while allowing you to make a meaningful impact in a supportive environment. Work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, including on-site Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, and Psychotherapists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality 1:1 and small group support to pupils aged 5-19 with complex needs.
  • Support non-verbal learners using non-verbal communication tools and tailored strategies.
  • Assist pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex medical conditions.
  • Deliver compassionate personal care, maintaining dignity and promoting independence.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience supporting non-verbal pupils, students on the autism spectrum, and those with complex medical needs.
  • Personal Care: Demonstrable experience providing personal care for children and young adults (ages 5-19).
  • Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or Level 1/2 Functional Skills equivalent). Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • DBS: Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to process a new one.
