The Role

Working closely with the Headteacher and existing SLT, you will have significant whole-school leadership responsibilities, including:

  • teaching and learning, curriculum, assessment and interventions;
  • supporting and developing teachers and subject leaders;
  • whole-school standards and school improvement;
  • attendance and punctuality;
  • Pupil Premium and improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils;
  • championing Looked After and Previously Looked After Children (LAC/PLAC); and
  • acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).

You will be a visible and approachable senior leader who knows our children well, builds positive relationships with parents and carers and works collaboratively with all members of staff.

We Are Looking for Someone Who

  • is an excellent classroom practitioner with successful leadership experience;
  • has strong knowledge of teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment;
  • can support, coach and appropriately challenge colleagues and subject leaders;
  • has high expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement;
  • is committed to improving outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils;
  • has a strong understanding of safeguarding;
  • builds excellent relationships with children, families and staff;
  • works successfully as part of an established leadership team; and
  • leads with integrity, empathy, resilience and a genuine commitment to every child.
