Advanced Nurse Practitioner – London

Rate: £50–£60 per hour (Outside IR35)

We are currently seeking experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners to support a range of well-established Primary Care, Urgent Care, and Out of Hours services across Greater London. This is an excellent opportunity to secure flexible locum work with regular shifts and the potential for ongoing assignments.

Role Overview

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will autonomously assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute, minor illnesses and long-term conditions. You will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across diverse clinical settings to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct autonomous assessments, clinical examinations, and formulate differential diagnoses.
• Develop and implement appropriate management and treatment plans.
• Request, interpret and act upon investigations within your scope of practise.
• Prescribe independently, managing medicines safely and effectively.
• Make timely referrals, escalate concerns as necessary, and implement robust safety-netting procedures.
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical documentation in line with professional standards.
• Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.

Essential Requirements

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Qualification as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or equivalent Advanced Clinical Practise qualification.
• Possession of an independent prescribing qualification.
• Recent autonomous clinical experience in General Practise, Urgent Treatment Centres, or Out of Hours services.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
• Confidence managing undifferentiated patient presentations.
• Up-to-date mandatory training and commitment to clinical governance standards.

Desirable Attributes

• Experience with electronic medical record systems such as EMIS, SystmOne, or Adastra.
• Familiarity with General Practise, Urgent Treatment Centres, walk-in centres, or Out of Hours services.
• Expertise in managing minor illnesses and long-term conditions.
• Experience working within high-volume clinical environments.
