About the role

Morson Edge are currently looking for a Part 145 Maintenance Assistant to join our client’s team at RAF Brize Norton. This role will provide essential hangar operations and maintenance support, ensuring aircraft maintenance teams have the materials, equipment and resources required to operate efficiently, safely and in compliance with company procedures.

Role Overview

£19.12 Per Hour PAYE / Up to £25.58 Per Hour Umbrella

6 month initial contract

Standard 35 hours per week (working 4.5 days between the hours of 7am – 7pm, hours agreed at business discretion)

The Part 145 Maintenance Assistant will support the day-to-day delivery of hangar operations and maintenance support activities. This will include coordinating materials, tooling, consumables and associated equipment, while maintaining high standards of organisation, quality and compliance within the maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Maintenance Services and Support Maintenance Manager with the successful daily delivery of tasks at RAF Brize Norton.
  • Deliver aircraft materials and supporting items between the hub and hangar. A full driving licence is essential; a forklift licence is desirable.
  • Manage the receipt, control, storage and return of aircraft materials, including carrying out quality checks on associated documentation.
  • Ensure all maintenance equipment, tooling and accessories are correctly positioned within designated maintenance areas in line with the required processes.
  • Coordinate consumable and expendable materials within the maintenance area.
  • Work closely with the maintenance leadership team to ensure the correct husbandry, housekeeping and standards are maintained throughout the aircraft hangar.
  • Ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Support the maintenance team by ensuring required materials, equipment and resources are available when needed.

Essential Skills

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise day-to-day tasks effectively.

Desirable

  • Forklift licence.
  • Previous experience within an aviation, engineering, maintenance or logistics environment would be advantageous.
