Stevenage, Hertfordshire RG Setsquare ️ We're Hiring: Mechanical Shift Engineer – Pressure Systems AP ⚙️🚨🔧 📍 Location: Stevenage 💷 £47,000 + £3,000 AP Allowance + 25% Shift Allowance 🕒 Days & Nights | Shift Pattern 🏭 Industrial Environment | Mechanical Engineering | Steam & Pressure Systems We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer with strong mechanical maintenance experience and Authorised Person (AP) responsibility for pressure systems. ⚙️ This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with experience in steam, boilers, pressure systems, PPM, reactive maintenance and mechanical fault finding. 🔧 Responsibilities & Duties * 🛠️ Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance. * 🔥 Act as Mechanical AP for steam, boilers and pressure systems. * 🔐 Manage mechanical isolations and Permit to Work procedures. * 📋 Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are followed. * ⚙️ Maintain pumps, valves, boilers and associated mechanical plant. * 🔍 Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs. * 🚨 Respond to breakdowns and engineering issues during shifts. 🛡️ Support statutory inspections and pressure systems compliance. * 📑 Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records. * 🤝 Work closely with contractors, engineers and other disciplines. * 🦺 Ensure all work is completed safely and to required standards. 👨‍🔧 Requirements * ⚙️ Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Shift Engineer. * 🔐 Current or previous experience as a Mechanical Authorised Person (AP). * 🔥 Strong steam, boiler and pressure systems experience. * 🎓 Relevant mechanical engineering qualification or time-served experience. * 📋 Strong knowledge of PPM, reactive maintenance and fault finding. * 🔐 Experience with Permit to Work and mechanical isolation procedures. * 🛡️ Good understanding of pressure systems safety and statutory compliance. * 🏭 Experience within industrial, manufacturing, healthcare or highly regulated environments. * 🌙 Ability to work both day and night shifts. * 💬 Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
