Teaching Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a supportive Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This Teaching Assistant position will involve working with children and young people who have a range of additional needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, communication difficulties, anxiety, and associated learning challenges. The successful Teaching Assistant will help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where pupils are supported to develop confidence, independence, and positive relationships.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with autism, SEMH needs, and associated learning difficulties.
• Help implement individual education and behaviour support plans.
• Adapt resources and classroom activities to meet a wide range of learning needs.
• Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies.
• Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and participation.
• Support pupils in developing communication, social, and life skills.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, SEMH needs, or behavioural challenges.
