About the role
š Support Worker, Silverton, EX5. Up to Ā£20.00 gross per hour. A rewarding opportunity to support Oscar, a bright and determined 22-year-old with cerebral palsy, as he navigates a significant period of recovery and adjustment. His Support Worker will help him remain engaged, comfortable and connected to the world around him.
Key Information
- Ā Job Title: Support Worker
- Pay: Up to £20.00 gross per hour
- Location: Silverton, EX5. Initial training in Exeter, EX2
- Ā Start Date: ASAP
- Ā Hours and Days of Work: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 04:00 PMā10:00 PM, plus alternate weekends. Weekend shifts: 08:00 AMā06:00 PM or 11:00 AMā10:00 PM. Weekend-only availability considered
- Essential Experience: Some exposure or experience working with young adults with a physical disability. Able to work at least two Saturdays or Sundays a month
- Desirable: PEG feeding experience, but full training is provided
- Driver Required: Yes ā driving Oscarās adapted manual vehicle out in the community
- Family Pets: Working Cocker Spaniel

Oscar, 22, is a bright, engaging and determined young man who enjoys music, languages, reading and socialising. He has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user and non-verbal. Following recent spinal surgery, Oscar currently has very limited movement from the neck down and is developing new communication methods using head switches. His Support Worker will provide personal care, encourage meaningful interaction and support his evolving communication and rehabilitation journey.
This role would suit a compassionate and resilient Support Worker who can offer calm, consistent support while working confidently within an evolving care environment. Full training will be provided, including Oscarās updated clinical and communication needs, alongside ongoing guidance from his family and care team.
