Humly are recruiting for a patient and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Preston from as soon as possible. This role will involve working across EYFS and Key Stage 1, supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them access learning, classroom routines and everyday school life.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEN Learning Support Assistant or education professional who is confident working with younger pupils and understands the importance of calm, consistent support. The role will initially run until the October half-term, with potential to continue further depending on the needs of the school.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils with additional needs across EYFS and KS1

• Helping pupils access classroom learning and activities

• Providing additional support with daily school routines

• Supporting pupils with transitions throughout the school day

• Encouraging communication, confidence and independence

• Providing 1:1 or small group support where required

• Building positive and trusting relationships with younger pupils

• Supporting positive behaviour and engagement in learning

• Working closely with teachers and school staff

• Helping create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

You'll Be a Good Fit If You...

• Have experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar education role

• Have experience working with children in EYFS, KS1 or a primary school setting

• Are confident supporting pupils with additional educational needs

• Have a patient, caring and nurturing approach

• Can build positive relationships with younger pupils

• Understand the importance of calm and consistent support

• Are adaptable and confident working across EYFS and KS1

• Are reliable and available to start as soon as possible

• Can work effectively as part of a school team
