About the role

This role will provide short-term agency support to develop a model-driven Power App which aligns with the existing employer engagement reporting Excel documents,  working with the Data Team to create, design, test and implement this reporting tool for the Connect to Work team ensuring it meets reporting needs for DWP and also the operational needs of the wider Employment and Skills Service area.

The post holder will work closely with the existing Connect to Work Data Processing and Compliance Officer, as well as the wider Connect to Work project team, to provide updates and ensure high standards of accuracy and that the work meets the needs of Connect to Work delivery.

This role requires a confident, self-directed individual who can work independently, exercise sound judgement to ensure the Power App design meets user needs, and be able to accurately communicate updates and progress with colleagues.

This role will need technical skills in Power Apps, Dataverse and Power Automate, including forms, workflows and user permissions. An awareness of data integration and ETL concepts would be beneficial to support the collection and transfer of data into the existing data environment.

While a background in employment and skills is not essential, the role requires the ability to understand and  quickly, synthesise complex information effectively.

Essential

  • Proficiency in using Power Apps, Dataverse and Power Automate to develop and maintain data collection solutions.
  • Confident in gathering user requirements to deliver practical digital solutions.
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting and supporting applications in a live environment.
  • Understanding of data modelling, data quality and data integration principles, including ETL.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines, with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience developing externally facing applications.
  • Familiarity with Databricks or other cloud-based data platforms.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other data analysis and processing tools.
  • Awareness of JavaScript or similar languages.

Duration:- 6 Months

Role Type – Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in Office
