The Opportunity
We are supporting an NHS Trust in the East of England with the appointment of a Locum Consultant Haematologist.
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Consultant Haematologist to join an established Haematology service and provide high-quality specialist care to patients across the Trust.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of safe and effective Haematology services throughout the assignment, including participation in a 1 in 5 on-call rota.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide Consultant-level Haematology services across the Trust.
The role will include:
- Assessment and management of patients with a wide range of Haematological conditions
- Providing Consultant-level clinical decision-making, diagnosis and treatment
- Undertaking Haematology clinics, including new and follow-up patients
- Providing specialist advice and clinical support to colleagues
- Participating in the 1 in 5 on-call rota
- Managing urgent and acute Haematology presentations as required
- Working collaboratively with nursing, medical and wider multidisciplinary colleagues
- Supporting junior medical staff where required
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Contributing to clinical governance and service improvement activities
- Ensuring safe, high-quality and patient-centred care
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Haematology, or relevant experience for a locum appointment
- Previous NHS Consultant-level Haematology experience
- Broad experience in clinical Haematology
- Experience managing a wide range of Haematological conditions
- Ability to participate effectively in a 1 in 5 on-call rota
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within an NHS Haematology department
- Experience across a broad range of Haematology services
- Experience managing acute Haematology presentations
- Teaching and supervision experience
- Experience in clinical audit, governance or service improvement
