About the role
A friendly and inclusive primary school is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils across the classroom and help them access learning with confidence. This role is ideal for someone patient, proactive and passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
About the Role
As an LSA, you’ll work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider staff to provide targeted support to pupils who may need additional help with learning, behaviour, communication or confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom support — helping pupils engage with lessons and stay on task
- Small‑group interventions — delivering targeted activities to boost progress
- 1:1 support where required, following guidance from teaching staff
- Supporting pupils with SEND, EAL or additional learning needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour, routines and independence
- Assisting with phonics, reading, writing and maths activities
- Preparing resources and supporting classroom organisation
- Monitoring pupil progress and sharing observations with staff
- Providing emotional reassurance and helping pupils develop confidence
About You
- Experience supporting children in a school or childcare setting
- A calm, nurturing and patient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow teacher guidance and adapt to pupil needs
- Understanding of SEND is beneficial but not essential
- Passionate about helping children overcome barriers and succeed
