Job Title: Fire & Security Design Engineer / Estimator
Location: Essex & London
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000

Are you an experienced Fire & Security Design Engineer / Estimator based in Essex or London looking for your next opportunity? As a Fire & Security Design Engineer / Estimator, you will be responsible for designing fire alarm and detection systems, producing technical drawings and estimates, pricing projects, and carrying out site surveys across a range of commercial and residential clients. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to its customers.

Responsibilities:

* Design fire alarm and detection systems in line with relevant standards and specifications.
* Produce technical drawings, system designs and accurate project estimates.
* Carry out site surveys to assess requirements and identify scope of works.
* Prepare quotations and price additional works where required.
* Liaise with customers, contractors and suppliers to support project delivery.
* Work closely with project and installation teams to ensure designs are delivered effectively.

Experience and Certifications required:

* Proven experience in fire system design and estimating within the fire and security industry.
* Sound knowledge of fire alarm systems, including detection and suppression, in line with BS 5839 standards.
* Experience with security systems including CCTV, access control or intruder alarms.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
* Full UK driving licence, as the role involves regular site visits across Essex and London.
* FIA Design qualification or equivalent (desirable).
* ECS/CSCS card (desirable).
