Warehouse Manager

Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our Halifax based client for a reliable and organised Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of their warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, checking and storing materials, preparing stock for upcoming installations, maintaining stock levels and keeping the warehouse clean, safe and organised.

Shift/salary:

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
• Overtime: Occasional additional hours may be required

The role:

The role includes delivering materials to customers, liaising with suppliers, chasing outstanding deliveries, supporting fitters on larger projects and carrying out smaller flooring installations when required. Full training will be provided across a range of flooring products and installation methods.

• Manage the day-to-day running of the warehouse, keeping it clean, organised and safe
• Receive supplier deliveries and check materials against delivery notes
• Inspect incoming products for quality, quantity, sizes and measurements
• Log deliveries and allocate materials to jobs using the company system
• Store materials correctly ready for upcoming installations
• Monitor installation schedules and ensure materials are available on time
• Chase outstanding supplier deliveries and communicate delays to the office team
• Maintain accurate stock records and complete regular stock checks
• Order sundries and consumables to maintain required stock levels
• Prepare materials for installations, including picking, organising and cutting carpets where required
• Deliver materials to customers’ homes where acclimatisation is needed
• Collect materials from suppliers when necessary
• Support fitters on larger installation projects
• Carry out smaller flooring installations independently when required
• Assist with floor preparation, uplifts, screeding, furniture moving and manual handling
• Arrange skip exchanges and manage waste/recycling where needed
• Operate company vehicles responsibly for deliveries, collections and site visits

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, dependable and well organised, with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail.

Essential:

• Full UK driving licence
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Physically fit and confident with manual handling
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills

Desirable:

• Previous warehouse experience
• Flooring, construction or building supplies experience
• Forklift licence
• Previous fitting or trade experience
