About the role

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and technically minded IT Support Technician to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a varied IT support environment, working with a broad range of technologies and directly supporting business customers.

The successful candidate will provide technical support to a growing customer base, dealing with faults and queries across servers, desktop computers, laptops, networking, internet connectivity, telephony, printers and associated peripherals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to customers via telephone, email, remote access and on-site.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across desktops, laptops, servers, Microsoft 365, printers and peripherals.
  • Install, configure and maintain hardware, software and network equipment, including routers, switches and Wi-Fi.
  • Assist with user accounts, permissions, backups, security and general systems administration.
  • Support customer IT installations, upgrades and technical projects through to completion.
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers and escalate complex issues where required.
  • Maintain accurate service desk records, documentation and customer updates.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service, taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • Prioritise workloads effectively while working both independently and as part of a technical team.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in an IT support/helpdesk or technical support role, ideally within an MSP or customer-focused IT environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, software and networking.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, servers, printers and network connectivity.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi and general network infrastructure.
  • Experience with user accounts, permissions, backups and basic system administration.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to resolving technical issues.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple support requests, prioritise workloads and maintain accurate records.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine willingness to learn and develop technically.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites where required.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing IT business in a varied and hands-on support role, with exposure to a broad range of technologies and customer environments.
