Experienced Social Worker - Support & Protection and Families First

Are you a dedicated social worker looking to make a meaningful impact? Trafford Council is currently seeking passionate professionals to join our Support & Protection and Families First teams. They have multiple opportunities across Altrincham, Stretford, and Sale where you can put your expertise to work in a supportive, value-driven environment.

Responsibilities

As a Social Worker in our teams, you will play a vital role in safeguarding children and supporting families. Your core responsibilities include:

• Support & Protection: Engage in complex, long-term work with families and young people where cases have escalated to Child Protection or care proceedings. You will partner with multi-agency teams to ensure children can live safely at home whenever possible.
• Families First: Manage assessment and duty work, providing essential support to families throughout the Child in Need process across our North, West, South, and Central localities.
• Case Management: Maintain manageable caseloads, with an aim to limit totals to 20 children to ensure high-quality, focused intervention.
• Collaboration: Build robust partnerships with families and external agencies to deliver sustainable, life-changing outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle.
• An enhanced DBS check with children's barred list will be processed for the successful candidate.

• Market Supplement: An additional £2,400 per annum for Band 8 (level 3) social workers.
