About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) on behalf of a leading Alternative Provision in West London, supporting pupils aged 5-19 outside mainstream education.
Operating from a modern, purpose-built campus with specialist facilities, including science labs, catering suites, and music technology studios - the school provides a dynamic environment designed to help young people thrive.
In this role, you will work alongside a passionate team helping students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs re-engage with learning, build confidence, and transition back to mainstream school, further education, or employment. This is an ideal opportunity for an educator looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive special educational needs (SEN) setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, trauma-informed emotional and educational support to vulnerable pupils.
- De-escalate high-pressure situations and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary SEN team to foster a secure learning environment.
- Maintain clear professional boundaries to build strong student trust and rapport.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in promoting student development, including assessing and tracking progress.
- Proven experience supporting students with SEMH needs in settings such as foster care, residential children's homes, social care, or complex care environments.
- Ability to provide unwavering care, lead student activities, and support classroom teams.
- Strong emotional resilience and commitment to trauma-informed practice.
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above.
- Willingness to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check.
