Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity - Kent

An established contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to act as the sole commercial job runner for a major, multi-phase residential scheme in East Kent. Valued at £75m+ with over 400 units, this long-term project offers total commercial ownership and clear career progression.

You will take complete financial control of the development while managing and developing an onsite team (currently a QS and an Assistant QS), with scope to expand the team as future phases progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as sole commercial lead on a multi-million-pound residential development.

• Line-manage, mentor, and delegate to an onsite commercial team (QS and AQS).

• Oversee full-life cycle financial management, including procurement, subcontract management, monthly CVRs, cash flow forecasting, and final accounts.

• Drive commercial strategy, value engineering, and risk management to protect profit margins.

• Act as the primary commercial point of contact for senior leadership and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor capable of running substantial schemes independently.

• Background working with a Main Contractor or a Residential Developer on multi-unit resi developments.

• Demonstrated line-management capability with experience developing junior and mid-level commercial staff.

• Deep understanding of full-life cycle contract administration and procurement.
