The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant in General Medicine to support services in Wales

This long-term opportunity is available from 1st October 2026 to 1st January 2027 and offers a varied General Medicine workload, including ward cover, front door service responsibilities and participation in the on-call rota. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly to support service requirements, including annual leave and sickness cover where required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide Consultant-led care within a General Medicine service
• Support the front door acute medical service
• Cover a 32-bedded General Medicine ward
• Participate in the on-call rota
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support service delivery by providing flexible cover for annual leave and sickness where required
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment

What We're Looking For

• GMC Specialist Registration is essential (non-negotiable)
• Must be on Welsh performers list
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Recent NHS experience at Consultant level
• Strong General Medicine experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
