The role is responsible for leading the engineering delivery of complex programmes and multiple projects across the full lifecycle. The position combines technical leadership, systems architecture, programme coordination, resource planning, risk management, budget ownership, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring delivery to cost, schedule, quality, and security requirements. The successful candidate will oversee teams of systems engineers, support capability and product development involving hardware, software, and embedded systems, drive innovation and process improvement, and act as a key technical authority working with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering disciplines within highly regulated and security-cleared environments.

What You Will Do:

– Oversee the engineering delivery of programmes and projects of varying sizes, ensuring they meet budget and schedule requirements.

– Support programme management by planning and scheduling, identifying resource needs, and proposing optimisation strategies.

– Manage engineering budgets, forecast costs, and implement solutions to address overspend or schedule delays.

– Coordinate engineering resources, provide day-to-day tasking, and ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering artefacts.

– Actively manage technical risks and their mitigation to minimise impact on programme success.

– Represent the company with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
