HGV Mechanic

Location: Worksop
Pay: £19.70 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, day shifts
Shift: Approximately 6:00am–2:00pm or 7:00am–3:00pm
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician to join a busy fleet workshop in Worksop.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic, LGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Fleet Technician looking for stable, Monday-to-Friday work with long-term potential.

HGV Mechanic Duties

• Service, inspect and maintain HGVs and commercial vehicles

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance

• Complete vehicle safety checks and defect repairs

• Work on braking, suspension, steering, transmission and other vehicle systems

• Carry out electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs where required

• Prepare vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections

• Complete maintenance records and workshop paperwork

• Ensure all vehicles are safe, roadworthy and compliant with relevant regulations

• Maintain a safe and tidy workshop environment

Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / LGV Mechanic

• Strong HGV mechanical and fault-finding knowledge

• Experience with servicing and vehicle repairs

• Good understanding of vehicle safety and roadworthiness

• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious

• Relevant HGV maintenance qualification desirable

Experience working on refuse collection vehicles, waste vehicles, RCVs or other specialist commercial vehicles would be advantageous.
