Senior M&E Proposals Engineer / Estimator

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Proposals Engineer/Estimator to join a Southern Water Framework team, developing value-for-money M&E solutions and pricing in collaboration with clients, delivery teams and supply chain partners.

Title: Senior Estimator/Proposals Engineer (M&E)

Day rate: Up to £600p/d 

Location: Remote working (with sporadic travel to offices between Brighton/Portsmouth when required)

Contract: 6 month contract (potential to extend)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare multi-discipline tender pricing, from high-level budgets to detailed lump sums and targets.
• Support pre-construction and early contractor involvement activities.
• Review specifications, drawings and project requirements.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, specialist subcontractors and internal teams.
• Review and assess supply chain quotations and prepare cost comparisons.
• Produce estimates, cost analyses and tender documentation.
• Attend client, internal and site meetings.
• Manage multiple projects within a framework environment while meeting deadlines and quality requirements.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience delivering tenders/pricing within the water industry.
• Strong M&E engineering and estimating experience.
• Experience working within a framework environment.
• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical assets used within the water industry.
• Experience of pre-construction, risk identification and value engineering.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of client requirements.
• Excellent organisation, planning and communication skills.
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Competent with estimating software and relevant IT packages.
• Construction project experience, preferably within the water sector.
• An appreciation or experience of carbon data capture.
