Put Your Aircraft Painting Experience Back on the Hangar Floor

Morson Edge is looking for experienced Aircraft Painters to join a busy aerospace MRO operation in Prestwick.

This is a hands-on aircraft environment where you’ll be responsible for the preparation, treatment and finishing of aircraft surfaces, working to approved maintenance data and Part-145 standards.

With a choice of shift patterns, enhanced shift rates and strong overtime potential, it’s a contract that can work particularly well for experienced aircraft painters looking for their next MRO programme.

Pay Rates

Standard Hours: £16.10 per hour
Double Days: £19.32 per hour
Nights – 3 Shift: £21.47 per hour
Overtime: £24.15 per hour

The Role

You’ll carry out aircraft surface preparation, coating and finishing activities, ensuring aircraft surfaces meet the required quality, appearance and regulatory standards.

The work covers the complete preparation and coating process, from removing existing finishes and preparing the underlying surface through to masking, spraying and applying final markings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply paint, lacquer, epoxy and resin using spray guns, rollers and brushes
  • Remove existing coatings using chemical strippers and approved mechanical methods
  • Prepare aircraft surfaces through sanding, scraping and surface conditioning
  • Roughen aluminium surfaces using approved treatments where required
  • Mask and protect areas not requiring treatment
  • Apply aircraft insignia, lettering and markings using stencils
  • Operate media-blast equipment for paint and corrosion removal
  • Complete required maintenance and production documentation
  • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant working environment
  • Work in accordance with Part-145 and company quality procedures

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need:

  • Extensive aircraft or aircraft-component painting experience
  • Strong practical knowledge of aerospace surface preparation and coating processes
  • Experience using media-blast equipment
  • Understanding of Part-145 requirements
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts, including nights
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK

Relevant experience could include Aircraft Painter, Aircraft Paint Sprayer, Aerospace Painter, Aircraft Refinisher, Aircraft Surface Finisher or similar aerospace finishing positions.
