Job Summary

Central Recruitment are an agency based in Blackburn – currently we are recruiting for our client based in Darwen and they require an experienced Hand Sewer to join their dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sewing luxury fabric pieces with precision and care, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in every product. Your expertise will contribute to creating beautifully finished bespoke home wear. This position offers an engaging opportunity to apply your sewing skills in a fast-paced environment, supporting the production of exceptional items.

The hours of work are 7am-3pm Monday-Friday.

Duties

• Hand sew various materials and components according to specifications and quality standards.
• Repair, alter, and finish products using hand-sewing techniques.
• Inspect materials and finished products for defects and ensure high-quality workmanship.
• Follow work instructions, patterns, and production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Handle materials and products carefully to prevent damage.
• Meet daily productivity and quality targets.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other production-related duties as required.

Skills

• Previous hand sewing or textile manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic understanding of quality control procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Good vision, including close-up work.
• Ability to use hands continuously for detailed sewing tasks.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 8kg occasionally.
