Acorn by Synergie are recruiting on behalf of a Public Sector Client for a Kitchen Assistant / Pot Wash role in Cardiff, working term time only.

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant / Pot Wash to join the catering team within a busy school environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organised, and compliant with food hygiene standards, helping to provide healthy meals for pupils and staff.

• Term time only.

• Opportunity to work within a busy school catering environment.

• Full training provided for candidates without previous kitchen experience.

• Wash pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.

• Operate dishwashing machinery safely and efficiently.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.

• Assist with basic food preparation as required.

• Support the catering team during meal service.

• Ensure all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations are followed.

• Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.

• Carry out general kitchen duties as directed by the Catering Manager.

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Ability to work in a busy environment.

• Understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.

• Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

• Valid DBS is essential.

• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification is essential.
