We are looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join our clients production team and play a key role in establishing safe, stable and repeatable manufacturing processes.

This is an opportunity for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, understands the importance of process discipline and technical standards, and wants to make a tangible contribution to continuous improvement.

You’ll be responsible for setting and starting injection moulding machines, optimising processes, supporting tool changes and resolving technical issues — while helping develop the capability and standards of the wider production team.

The Role

As an Injection Moulding Setter / Process Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring our injection moulding processes are safe, efficient, stable and capable of consistently meeting customer quality and delivery requirements.

You’ll work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality to reduce downtime, improve process performance and ensure problems are addressed at root cause rather than through temporary workarounds.

Main Duties:

• Carry out safe and efficient mould and tool changes in line with agreed procedures.
• Set and start injection moulding machines using approved process parameters.
• Prepare tooling, materials, ancillary equipment and automation for production.
• Establish stable, repeatable moulding conditions.
• Monitor process performance and take appropriate action when parameters move outside agreed limits.
• Accurately complete setting, process and production documentation.
• Maintain approved process parameters and ensure any changes are properly controlled

• Diagnose and resolve injection moulding process issues using a structured approach.
• Identify whether issues originate from the machine, mould, material, process or ancillary equipment.
• Diagnose common moulding defects and implement appropriate corrective action.
• Support root-cause investigations into recurring technical problems.
• Escalate issues appropriately where additional engineering or technical support is required.

• Manufacture products in accordance with approved quality standards and customer requirements.
• Follow SOPs, process sheets and standard working practices.
• Support investigations into scrap, rejects and process variation.
• Help establish consistent technical standards across all shifts.
• Maintain accurate and complete process documentation.

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong practical experience within plastic injection moulding.
• Proven experience setting and processing injection moulding machines.
• Good understanding of injection moulding parameters and their impact on product quality.
• Experience diagnosing common moulding defects and process problems.
• Experience carrying out safe mould and tool changes.
• Good understanding of mould tools, materials and ancillary equipment.
• Ability to follow, maintain and work within documented processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to process control.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A reliable, safety-conscious and proactive approach.

It would be advantageous if you have experience with:

• Recognised injection moulding or processing qualifications.
• Robotics and automated handling systems.
• Engineering polymers.
• Different injection moulding machine manufacturers and control systems.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Basic mechanical fault finding.
• Coaching or developing less experienced colleagues.
