4 Days On, 6 Days Off Rota
We are recruiting for a Senior Children's Adventure Care Worker to join a specialist children's residential home in Buxton.
This is a unique opportunity to combine therapeutic residential childcare with outdoor and adventure-based activities, supporting young people through a trauma-informed approach. You will help provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, resilience and independence while achieving positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care and support to young people
- Build positive and trusting relationships
- Support emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
- Participate in outdoor and adventure activities
- Maintain accurate records and care plans
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed
- Support young people with daily routines, education and life skills
Requirements
- Minimum 12 months' experience within a Children's Residential Home
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or above, or close to completion
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted standards and residential childcare legislation
- Experience of de-escalation and physical intervention techniques
- Passion for supporting vulnerable young people and outdoor activities
- Right to work in the UK
- Applicants must be aged 21+ due to industry regulations
