4 Days On, 6 Days Off Rota

We are recruiting for a Senior Children's Adventure Care Worker to join a specialist children's residential home in Buxton.

This is a unique opportunity to combine therapeutic residential childcare with outdoor and adventure-based activities, supporting young people through a trauma-informed approach. You will help provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, resilience and independence while achieving positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care and support to young people
  • Build positive and trusting relationships
  • Support emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
  • Participate in outdoor and adventure activities
  • Maintain accurate records and care plans
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed
  • Support young people with daily routines, education and life skills

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months' experience within a Children's Residential Home
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or above, or close to completion
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted standards and residential childcare legislation
  • Experience of de-escalation and physical intervention techniques
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable young people and outdoor activities
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Applicants must be aged 21+ due to industry regulations
